Marco Illescas-Canar, age 31, of Bridgeport, whose family resides in the “Hollow” section of the city was found around 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, March 21 when officers responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of North Avenue and Clinton Avenue, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.
At first, police believed that Illescas-Canar may have been homeless, and put out a call to the public to help identify him, but his family was found and notified of his death, Gilleran said.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Illescas-Canar’s family and friends," Gilleran said.
Illescas-Canar was found when responding officers canvassed the area on foot and ultimately located him laying inside a garage in the 900 block of Clinton Avenue, Gilleran said.
An investigation is underway into his death, police said.
